TV Sales
To pleasantly greet the general public, offer proper information about the products and services offered by BrandsMart USA and BrandsMart Service Company; sell and explain the merchandise BrandsMart USA offers to the satisfaction of the customer; sell and explain extended service plans to the satisfaction of the customer; strive to continuously improve knowledge of the products sold by BrandsMart USA; strive to improve knowledge of the competition, maintain store displays, assist in taking physical inventories as required and complete shopping reports as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greet Customers

A Product Specialist is the voice of the Company. It is the responsibility of each employee to treat all customers pleasantly and with respect. The Product Specialist must greet each customer in such a way as to make the customer feel genuinely welcome. A Product Specialist should be willing to impart whatever information the customer requests and be willing to educate the customer on our products whether or not the customer intends to make a purchase.

  • Sell Merchandise

The Product Specialist must sell the merchandise provided by the Company in accordance with the current pricing policy for that item. The Product Specialist should not sell any item at a price above the maximum price set by the company. The Product Specialist must be able to sell and explain the function of any products within the Product Specialists assigned department. As part of the selling function the Product Specialist is required to instruct the customer in the proper use of a product and assemble some of the products purchased by the customer when the particular item sold requires assembly or instruction.

  • Sell Extended Service Plans

All Product Specialists are required to sell and accurately explain the service contracts offered by BrandsMart USA. The service contract must be added to a sales invoice accurately.

  • Improve Product Knowledge

The Product Specialist is required, as a condition of continued employment to maintain a high level of product knowledge in his/her assigned department. This includes, but not limited to, attending training sessions both Company sponsored and manufacturer sponsored. The Product Specialist is expected to read about and keep up with advances in new products or technology.

  • Shop Competition

The Product Specialist must be aware of competition, the policies of major competitors, the price levels offered by major competitors and the assortment offered by major competitors. Some salespeople may be assigned to complete shopping reports on specific competitors as required by store management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Take Inventory

Product Specialists are required to take physical inventories as required by BrandsMart USA.

  • Product Specialist Marginal Job Functions

During periods of an assigned shift when activity does not require the number of salespeople assigned, a Product Specialist may be required to perform a combination of the following functions:

  • Clean and maintain the selling area or selling counter area using basic cleaning supplies.
  • Other related Product Specialist duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
  • Assist with the changing, arranging, or straightening a selling display.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Individuals must possess and be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to the essential functions of the Product Specialist position, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to read English (or another language as may be required for one specific location) sufficiently to read invoices, repair orders, faxed requests and similar written materials.
  • Basic English language writing skills for completion of orders, request (inter Company and faxed requests) and other necessary correspondence as may be required.
  • Fluency in spoken English (or other language as may be required for one specific location) for communication with customers sufficiently to be understood and be able to accurately comprehend responses. Bilingual is a plus.
  • Basic math skills, including multiplication, addition, subtraction and division, necessary to verify amounts and costs of merchandise and quantities as may be required.
  • Occasionally the ability to grasp, lift or otherwise move goods weighing up to twenty five pounds.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity in at least one hand to be able to operate all computer terminals and other electronic equipment and manually complete paperwork such as sales orders, transfers and customer inquires.
  • Ability to stand and continuously perform essential job functions with minimal direct supervision for a complete selling shift.
  • Ability to learn and perform accurately all essential Product Specialist position functions with minimal direct supervision, within three weeks after an employee begins work.
  • Some knowledge of the Company’s mission, purpose and goals, and the role of the Product Specialist in achieving them.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS :

  • Education

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the
required knowledge, skills and abilities to accurately perform the above requirements.

  • Experience

The position requires a minimum of three years prior experience in the retail industry, preferably in a customer contact area. Current BrandsMart USA employees will be given preference.

  • Other Preferences

When a facility is located in an area where a language other than English is necessary, fluency in that language will be considered a required skill.

  • Grooming and Appearance

BrandsMart USA seeks to maintain a neat and professional image at all times. All employees must come to work dressed in appropriate attire and maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Product Specialists are required to wear a white dress shirt, tie and slacks for men and slacks or skirt at appropriate length and blouse for women. Denim or jeans are never permitted.

  • Stealing

All applicants will be automatically rejected if an interview or background check reveals that the applicant has engaged in theft from prior employers, customers, co-workers or others within a seven years prior to the date of application. Instances of theft more than seven years old will be considered on a case by case basis. It is the responsibility of each employee to promptly report any evidence of theft or inappropriate diversion of product.

  • Drug Screening

Applicants must certify they have not used illegal drugs within six months prior to application date. Applicants will be required to take and pass a drug screen prior to employment an employment offer.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
The criteria for evaluation in the Product Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to sell goods at the rates established by department managers and a customer satisfaction rating established by store management.
  • Proper sales techniques will be measured, in part, by the number of mistakes made in either invoicing or delivery coordination. Incorrectly sold items, continuous inaccuracies, customer complaints or dis-satisfaction due to employee’s negligence will be considered as negatives on any performance review.
  • Proper operation of all computer equipment and ability to follow BrandsMart USA policies and practices will be measured through visual observation and periodic verification.
