Retail Training Manager

Job Description
Landry’s has an open position for a Retail Training Manager at our Corporate office in Houston, TX. We need high caliber, experienced individuals to join our organization. If your skills and talents are a match for our needs, we can open the door to career opportunities.
Position Summary: Coordinate and support all aspects of Retail Training for hourly associates, supervisors and managers. Actively engages the field by producing training material that is engaging and interactive for the user. Provides field support when needed through interactive classes, field visits, and web-based meetings. Work with the Retail Training Director to prioritize needs, update documentation and champion new ways of learning and employee engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Field Training Team on Projects and due dates
  • Create and maintain documents, procedures and policies and update Field Guides or Manuals accordingly
  • Liaison between field operations and the corporate office; provide support on new initiatives from the office and provide feedback from the field
  • Analysis of current materials on a quarterly basis, sending feedback to the Retail Director of Training
  • Support the Retail Growth Supervisor program through document updates, monthly calls and analysis of individual evaluations from supervisors and their mentor managers
  • Support New Manager in Trainings through calendar and binder creation, support calls and analysis of evaluations
  • Provide documents and training support for any new store openings domestically or with franchise partners as needed
  • Participate in Department meetings and introduce training initiatives for the corporate office
  • Partnership with Operations, Visuals, Purchasing, Planning and Analysis as needed
  • Communication with store managers and senior support team
  • Create and execute training classes as needed for web or field visits
  • Execute special projects as required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in in a retail management or supervisory role a plus
  • 2-4 years in retail sales experience

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals; listens carefully and has the ability to perform as a team member. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
